Climate Change Consultant

EXERGIA is an independent firm of consultants, established in 1991, operating internationally in more than 50 countries in the fields of Energy, Environment, Water and Climate Change. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Climate Change Consultant to join our team and support the Climate Change Business Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Engage in the development and implementation of Climate Change Strategies and Action Plans, across scale and geographies
  • Contribute to the drafting of proposals for Climate Change projects in response to international tenders or private sector requests
  • Participate in project analytical work and preparation of project reports and deliverables
  • Perform background studies, broadening the team’s knowledge base in the field
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders
  • Support with the overall management of projects (national and international), working with international development organizations and IFIs, as well as the private sector
  • Explore opportunities for business development within established or new markets

Qualifications and skills

  • First degree in Engineering  or Physical Sciences or Economics/Finance or another relevant discipline
  • Desirable Postgraduate degree in a Climate Change field, including Climate Finance
  • Experience in at least 2 of the following areas:
    • EU Climate Change Policy and EU Taxonomy, including the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle
    • Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience including experience in Nature-based solutions
    • Climate Change Mitigation and Carbon Footprint Assessment
    • Circular Economy
    • Climate Finance
    • ESG-related frameworks, such as CSRD/ESRS and TCFD
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills, coupled with attention to detail
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Greek. Knowledge of French and/or other languages would be an asset.

Junior Energy or Environment Consultants

Minimum requested qualifications are:

  1. University degree in engineering or economics
  2. Master’s degree or higher level in the energy or environment sector
  3. Knowledge of Climate Change and/or Energy and/or Environment policies at EU and international level
  4. Experience in consulting services and/or project management preferably in the areas of energy and/or environment will be an asset
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; French will be a significant asset

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidates will join the relevant EXERGIA departments. They will participate as assistant experts in the whole cycle of company activities on matters pertaining to the fields of Climate Change, Energy and Environment, indicatively:

  • support for the preparation of successful bids for new projects acquisition;
  • contribution to project execution: data collection and statistical analysis, benchmarking, energy market analysis, regulatory analysis, documentary review, report and presentation preparation.
